Rhiannon runs for Raise the Roof!

The amazing Rhiannon Bevan, from Chester, recently ran the Chester Marathon to raise funds for RTR. A friend of our founder, Holly Bateman, Rhiannon says:  “I’ve been wanting to do something to help out Raise the Roof for a while so this seemed like the perfect opportunity.”

Rhiannon set herself a target of six hours to complete the run, but she crossed the finish line in five hours and 53 minutes. Hoping to meet her fundraising target of £500, Rhiannon exceeded expectation, raising over £1100. If you would like to show Rhiannon and RTR your support, you can donate here.

How You Can Help

If you want to raise funds for RTR, here are some ideas to help you:

  1. Run a race - a 5 or 10km, half or marathon and encourage everyone to donate £1 per km.
  2. Coffee and cake! Everyone loves to come together for cakes and coffee. Hold a coffee morning asking people to donate to partake. At these events, holding a raffle or playing bingo for prizes is a great way to raise more money.
  3. "Non-uniform" day - something simple, but everyone loves to go to school or work in the clothes they feel most comfortable. Charge £1-£2 to do so.
  4. A clothes swap. Organise so that people bring all their unwanted clothes and charge a small fee for entry, or per item.
